    • Moscow Times April 13 2010: Medvedev made 3.3 million rubles in 2009, down from 4.1 million rubles a year earlier, according to a statement on the Kremlin's website. He co-owns a 367.8 square meter apartment with his wife. Medvedev's assets included 3.6 million rubles ($123,300) in 12 bank accounts and a lease on a 4,700-square-meter plot of land. Last year he bought a vintage car, a 1948 GAZ Pobeda.

    The modest means set out in the declaration submitted to election officials contrast sharply with the funds he controls: he is chairman of gas giant Gazprom which in 2006 notched up a net profit of about $13 billion.
