Financial crisis not over in South Africa – August 2013, Money and Wages and Jobs in South Africa and more on Mywage South Africa
South African Reserve Bank (Sarb) governor Gill Marcus has said that South Africa has yet to emerge from the global financial crisis and the impact of the downturn has had ramifications across society.
"What I would want to emphasise is that when we look at this global crisis... to recognise that behind the statistics and the numbers, it's about ordinary people whose lives have been fundamentally affected," she said.
She added that “against the backdrop of a volatile currency responding to domestic and global developments, we can expect a challenging year ahead for monetary policy”.
